The Science Part

International nutritionist’s have long recommended that a Juice cleanse is something most people should do a few times a year if possible. With a juice diet, you’re giving your body a proper chance to flush out toxins from your organs and any residual undigested food from your digestion tract.

Weight Loss

Improve Skin

Flatten Stomach

Increased Energy Levels

Also because you’re flushing your system out with fresh veg juices, bursting with antioxidants and minerals, your digestive system should be revitalised with fresh nutrients and vitamins to ensure that it will process food more efficiently going forward.

Cells in the body require nutrients (i.e. vitamins and minerals) to function optimally. Many of these are referred to as micronutrients, to distinguish them from the macronutrient classes of fats, carbohydrates and proteins.

When cells receive adequate micronutrients, you feel energized and full. On the other hand, many foods provide calories from macronutrients, but are devoid of the essential micronutrients cells crave. These are calorie-dense, nutrition-poor foods and this characterises most processed foods.

Juice allows us to consumer large portions of vegetables through a quick, digestible process while also using the fluid to flush out toxins and reside that have remained in our digestive tracks.

Common misconceptions about Juice Diets

There is no fibre in this diet

In fact there is, because we blend a lot of the ingredients like Kale, Broccoli, Banana, Avocado and Pineapple, which maintains the fibre and nutrients in the ingredients.

There is no protein or carbs in this diet.

But there is, J. In the Banana, Avocado, Granola, Almonds and most importantly the Spirulina – packed with 65% of lean protein.

Am I allowed to drink coffee?

Preferably not, or if you really must you can make it a decaf coffee. You can also try herbal teas, decaf green, white tea, Matcha or Rooibos tea. Also coconut water, and regular filtered water is strongly advised but definitely no fizzy drinks or caffeine if you can.

The weight will jump back on as soon as you start to eat again.

This is common at the end of a lot of diets. Primarily because your salivation glands go into over drive as soon they taste food again, so it’s very tempting to over indulge. This is in fact the part of the diet that takes true discipline. When you do start to eat solids again make sure to digest your meal slowly and take regular breaks in between bits. Your stomach may have shrunk over the course of the diet, which for most people is a good thing, so make sure to eat small meals for the first few days.

Can I eat any food?

Of course you can. The first day is the hardest so if you must eat, try something small like organic soup or eggs. But to maximise the effectiveness of the detox it would be ideal to stay away from solids, and stick to liquids. Also if you have a really busy week in work, training, etc, and you find yourself struggling badly or feeling dizzy, we advise you to also have a small meal, again soup or eggs, baked fish are ideal.
